  • Is Octavia Herbal a legal marketplace? I have heard it’s illegal to buy CBD unless you are a licensed distributor?

Yes, Octavia Herbal is legal under federal law: The FDA of the United States considers hemp oil (and its derivative CBD) to be a nutritional product, and legal if it is derived from hemp plants produced in facilities under a federally approved program, authorized under Section 7606 of the 2014 Farm Bill. A criteria to grow legal hemp is that the plant must contain less than 0.3% of the psychoactive compound tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and be free of harmful pesticides. Iowa and Texas are two states that have specific restrictions for Hemp-based extracts, and Octavia Herbal will not ship to these states. We encourage you to review hemp laws and guidelines at the NCSL (National Conference of State Legislatures) site.

  • What are the differences between products found on and the products found on

Octavia Wellness offers products available in California that are derived from cannabis plants, which include a higher amount of THC, versus products available on Octavia Herbal which contain 0.0% to less than 0.3% THC.

  • Why Hemp? Are hemp and cannabis the same thing?

While both are derived from cannabis sativa species and both contain cannabinoids, the most definitive and broad explanation is that hemp plants can produce high levels of CBD but not THC. Because THC is the compound in cannabis responsible for psychoactivity, hemp is broadly considered non-psychoactive. Products available on legally must contain less than 0.3% THC (the psychoactive compound found in cannabis.)

  • Why would someone choose Octavia Herbal over products available on Octavia Wellness?

They are available beyond California! By using Hemp-derived plant extractions, Octavia is able to provide our wellness resources and products to consumers around the country.

Products available on the menu at must be delivered by a licensed cannabis delivery agent to individuals in California within the territories we deliver. To check to see if we delivery to your zip code, please go to your profile page and enter your zip.

    Delivery Convenience:
Octavia Herbal products can be shipped through the mail, and do not require that clients be home to sign for the packages.

    Lower Taxes and Delivery Fees:
Due to fewer regulations, delivery fees and taxes are lower, with flat shipping of $12 and free for orders over $100.

Concerns about Drug Testing for products with THC:
While we cannot guarantee the results of any drug test, hemp extract, by nature, contains very low THC levels and should not show up in a standard drug test. Most workplace drug tests measure for the psychoactive compound THC, not CBD, which is a natural compound found in hemp. Octavia Herbal also offers products that have all THC removed such as 100% THC Free Hemp CBD Oil Natural.

  • Why are there so many different names for Hemp?

Octavia Herbal products are produced from oils extracted from hemp, and contain the compound, or molecule CBD, but also contain more than 80 other cannabinoids. These types of products can also be referred to as: CBD-rich hemp oil, hemp derived CBD oil, CBD-rich cannabis oil, or hemp extracts.

  • Is there a difference in quality between Hemp CBDs? Are some Hemp Products better than others?

Many products that are popping up in grocery stores touting HIGH CBD at low prices, typically contain CBD isolates taken from hempseed oil which may have less efficacy. The treatments we produce and offer on Octavia Herbal utilize extractions from the full hemp plant, not just the seeds. This method of extraction produces a more robust oil. Some believe there are more healing properties when oils are extracted from the aerial parts of the hemp plant versus from hemp seeds.

According to the Hemp Industries Association, seeds of industrial hemp plants have important uses in human nutrition. They are a good source of protein, and the seed oil is rich in Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. The seed is used to make bread, cereals, and protein powder; the oil is used for margarine, salad dressing, cosmetics, and dietary supplements.

However, hemp seeds contain virtually no cannabinoids, which are in the flowers and (to a lesser extent) in the upper leaves.

  • Is CBD as effective without THC?

Octavia prefers products that use the whole plant versus simply removing one isolate from the plant, such as CBD. Regardless if the plant is labeled “cannabis” or “hemp”, both plants contain a full array of compounds, that, when combined, seem to work better. This process is often called the “entourage effect”. Hemp-derived products containing less than 0.3% THC which, even in microdosed levels, may contribute to the entourage effect. Octavia Herbal also offers products that are THC-free such as 100% THC Free Hemp CBD Oil Natural.

  • How Does CBD Work?

While more research is needed to figure out the total effects this compound has on our bodies, studies have shown the existence of a system of cell receptors in your body, called the endocannabinoid system (ECs), which spreads throughout the connective tissues and even into your organs. The cannabis family of plants, including Hemp Plants, contain compounds which interact specifically with this system and provide nutritional and therapeutic value that is unavailable to most other plants.

  • What is the benefit of “Full Spectrum Hemp” versus simply CBD extracted from Hemp?

Hemp contains more than 80 bioactive compounds, known as cannabinoids, that have been known to provide excellent support for a number of health concerns, including anxiety, pain relief, and sleep support. CBD is the second most abundant compound in hemp, typically representing up to 40% of hemp extracts.

  • Why is CBD popular?

A recent CBD study (A Cross-Sectional Study of Cannabidiol Users) by one of Octavia’s medical partners, Dr. Jamie Corroon, shows that “The top three medical conditions [people are treating with CBD] were pain, anxiety, and depression.” Additionally, “CBD is being used as a specific therapy for a number of diverse medical conditions—particularly pain and inflammatory disorders, in addition to anxiety, depression, and sleep disorders.” ©Jamie Corroon and Joy A. Phillips 2018; Published by Mary Ann Liebert, Inc.

  • The Octavia Herbal Nighttime Sleep Drops do not contain any CBD, but instead CBN. What is CBN?

The Octavia Herbal Nighttime Sleep Drops are formulated using hemp-derived CBD which is transformed through a unique proprietary method into CBN (leaving only residual CBD and less than .3% THC). The CBN compound has a sedative effect.

  • How Should I store my products?

We recommend storing our products in a cool, dry location, out of open sunlight. The typical medicine cabinet or pantry should be fine.

  • What is the difference between Full Spectrum and 100% THC Free?

Full Spectrum means that the hemp extract oil contains all of the cannabinoids naturally found in hemp, including a small amount of THC (.3% or less, as legally allowed). In our 100% THC Free hemp extract oil, the CBD has been isolated and all THC has been removed.

  • Will I get high if I use hemp extract?

No. Hemp extract contains very little to no THC, which is the psychoactive compound in cannabis plants that causes the “high”. Due to the low amounts of THC, hemp extract products will not cause the feeling of “high”.

  • Is hemp extract additive? Can someone overdose on hemp extract?

There is no current indication that hemp extract is addictive or can cause someone to overdose.

  • Is hemp extract safe to give to children and pets?

As we cannot advise on medical or health issues, it is important for you to check with your healthcare provider. It has been reported that many children, as well as pets have been given hemp extract without any negative effects.

  • Do I need a prescription for hemp extract?

No, a prescription in not required to purchase hemp extract products.

  • Can you use hemp-derived extract products when taking other medications?

We recommend that clients check with their healthcare professional regarding using hemp extract products with any medications they are taking.

  • How much should I take? How do I administer the hemp extract oil?

The “right” amount of oil will differ by person, as each of us are unique. We do, however, provide some general guidelines to help you out.
